Ready, Focus, Click!
Lenox Garden Club members are proving to be good shooters. Take a look at the most recent GCA August E-Blast to see Janet Pumphrey’s beautifully composed landscape photo that was chosen to be one of its six cover photos that focus on Zone 1. Stay on the opening page and click on “Enjoy more images from Zone 1,” to appreciate the serene shot taken by Jane Shea of the Housatonic River at the Stockbridge Golf Course reflecting the Berkshires in the background, then, continue scrolling through the six chosen photos to appreciate Mary Howard’s image of grasses and florals swaying in the foreground of an image of Richmond Pond. But that’s not all, Mary Howard’s image of a glacial boulder in her backyard was also selected and included in this month’s eNews. To find it, more easily, open the GCA website, members area, and type Mary Howard into the keyword search box and scroll down to Photos: 2024 eNews Photos.
Our shooting gallery does not stop there. Janet Pumphrey and KK Zutter submitted photos to the Photography Division of the N.E Fall Flower Show September 21-22, in Wellesley, MA, hosted by the MA Horticulture Society. Both had a photo selected to be included in the Fall Show which is replacing the Boston Flower Show. Janet submitted a photo in the “Elegant Complexity” Class #6: “a flower or small group of flowers using creative techniques;” and KK’s photo was picked for “Luxury and Splendor” Class #5: “A still life of an orchid with a few objects of interest.” And, as if you didn’t expect it, Janet had a second photograph chosen as an “Alternate" entry for the “Pride of Palaces” Class #3.
So beware, our cameras are loaded and we are active with target practice and competitive shooting events. And, stay tuned, LGC photographers are fired up and taking shots.
